Providing Help and Hope to Families at the Border and a Review on the Summer Solstice

On this week’s episode of JustLove, Monsignor Kevin Sullivan talks about the separation of families at the border and he also talks about the Summer Solstice.

Kenneth Ferrone, Executive Director of Catholic Charities of Southern New Mexico, talks to Msgr. Sullivan about the help that Catholic Charities of Southern New Mexico is providing to detained parents and their children on our southern border. Kenneth also talks about the situation with a locally detained Guatemalan asylum seeker who recently contacted Catholic Charities of Southern New Mexico about his 7-year-old daughter who was separated from him by immigration enforcement agents only to be transferred to a detention facility in New York. Catholic Charities of New York has provided assistance to Catholic Charities of Southern New Mexico in locating and visiting the young girl in detention here in New York.

Dr. Steve Schneider, Astronomy Department Head at the University of Massachusetts, will be discussing with Msgr. Sullivan the Summer Solstice, how the sun affects the seasons, how various ancient cultures commemorated the solstice, and the modern urban phenomenon of “Manhattanhenge.”
