JustLove’s Look at Bastille Day

On this week’s episode of JustLove, Msgr. Kevin Sullivan celebrates Bastille Day and France going to the World Cup Final.

Father Leo Patalinghug is a priest member of a community of consecrated life Voluntas Dei (The Will of God). He was born in the Philippines and now residing in the Baltimore area. Fr. Leo is the Founder, Host and Director of “Plating Grace” – an international apostolate to help strengthen families and relationships through God’s gift of a family meal. Fr. Leo is also a best-selling author, and the host of “Savoring our Faith” on EWTN, which was developed following his win on the cooking competition: “Throw Down with Bobby Flay”. Given the “Bastille Day” theme of our show. Fr. Leo talks to Msgr. Sullivan about French cuisine – wine, bread, cheese – as well as the importance of not only what appears on the table, but also who is gathered around it.

Prof. Jeff Horn, Ph.D. is a Professor of History at Manhattan College in Riverdale, New York and teaches courses concentrating on European and World History from 1500 A.D. to the present, particularly the French and Industrial Revolutions, the rise of European Empires, global terrorism, and genocide. Prof. Horn talks to Msgr. Sullivan about the importance of the French Revolution and the “Declaration of the Rights of Man,” both historically as well as its importance to today’s political realities in France, in the United States and internationally.
