International Day of the Older Person and the Youth Synod on “Young People, the Faith and the Discernment of Vocation”

On this week’s show of JustLove, Monsignor Kevin Sullivan talks to us about International Day of the Older Person and the Youth Synod on “Young People, the Faith and the Discernment of Vocation.”

Lisa Marsh Ryerson is the President of the AARP Foundation, the affiliated charity of the American Association of Retired Persons. Lisa talks to Monsignor Sullivan about a survey on loneliness among older adults ages 45 years and older that the AARP Foundation commissioned entitled “Loneliness and Social Conditions: A National Survey of Adults 45 and Older.” The survey was released back on Monday, September 24th. Lisa shares some of the findings of that survey as well as some suggestions of what we might do to relieve some of the loneliness felt by this growing segment of our society.

Cynthia Psencik is the Director of the Youth Ministry Office of the Archdiocese of New York. Cynthia talks to Monsignor Sullivan about the month-long Synod on “Young People, the Faith and Discernment of Vocation” at the Vatican beginning Wednesday, October 3rd. Cynthia talks about some of the work that she does with youth leaders and young people as Director of the Youth Ministry Office for the Archdiocese of New York, as well as the plans for the upcoming New York Catholic Youth Day being held at the Westchester County Center in White Plains, New York on October 20th.
