The Catholic Church in Nicaragua and JustLove’s look at Christmas Music 2018

On this week’s show, Monsignor Kevin Sullivan talks about the Catholic Church in Nicaragua and Christmas music from the perspective of important characters.

Ines San Martin is the Rome Bureau Chief and Vatican Correspondent for the Catholic religious news service CRUX, Ines. Ines talks to us about the current civil unrest and protest against Daniel Ortega – the President of Nicaragua – and his Vice President and wife Rosario Murillo – that has been rocking that county since mid-April of this year, and how the Catholic Church has found itself caught in the middle as Nicaragua struggles between its past and its present.

Fanny Gomez is the Social Media Specialist for Catholic Charities of the Archdiocese of New York. As we approach coming of Christmas during this Third Week of Advent, holiday music can be heard playing everywhere we go. This week, Fanny Gomez will be sharing with our listeners some particularly poignant Christmas songs concentrating on important characters in the Christmas narrative including Saint John the Baptist, the Virgin Mary, and Saint Joseph.
