Father’s Day and CYO’s Virtual Programs

Joel Cruz is the Director of The Institute for the Hispanic Family of Catholic Charities of the Archdiocese of Hartford, Connecticut. It offers a wide range of culturally competent programs to Hartford’s Latino community in the areas of services for seniors and children, family counseling, education and treatment for substance abuse, mental health and other services, and assistance with other basic needs. On this Father’s Day Weekend, Joel shares some of the challenges that confront fathers in today’s society, and what assistance is available – through The Institute for the Hispanic Family and elsewhere to help them fulfill their vital role.

Coach Stefan Anikewich is the Volunteer Coordinator and Coach of the Track and Field/Cross Country Club of the Catholic Youth Organization (CYO) of Catholic Charities of the Archdiocese of New York. Coach Stefan talks to us about how, during the COVID-19 outbreak, CYO keeps the young people it works with activities throughout the pandemic through a Virtual Training Series and a Virtual Track Meet that raised funds for Catholic Charities Food Pantries.
